Acne and the glycemic load

For acne: A GL to 20 is good, a GL over 20 is bad

GL values below 10 are considered good, since foods with such low values have little or no effect on the blood glucose level.

Values between 10 and 20 are considered mediocre and values higher than 20 are classified as bad because they raise the blood glucose level and provoke high insulin output. If an acne is present then such foods should be chosen which have low GL values.

Foods with high GL values include, for example, white rice, breakfast flakes, cakes, pastry and pastries, sugary soft drinks , ice cream, fruit preserves and sugary sweets of all kinds.

Foods with a low GL keep the blood glucose level stable. They mainly include vegetables, most fruits (except dried fruit), nuts, almonds , salads, sprouts , algae and eggs.
